T E N.
Ten freaking years.
How in the world have I been doing this for TEN YEARS. (It’s been a little bit longer than that, but legally speaking.)
It’s been 10 years of blood (minimal), sweat (lots) and tears (occasional) mixed with hard work, dedication, late nights, long/weird hours, sacrifice, stress, frustration, and anxiety. I can’t say it’s been a walk in the park, but what comes with the struggle comes the greatness – the people, beauty and art.
I know I thank all my clients, friends, and family as much as I can, but they still deserve it today, too. There’s a long list of people I could thank, many of them continuously encouraging and pushing me to keep doing this. I will forever thank every single client I’ve ever had – from the very first photo shoot I did, to the ones who have stood by me through the ugly and to those who are new this year.
I have to thank Momma Mare for many years of keeping me sane and making sure I was fed and my laundry was done and she passed the torch onto Brian, who is keeping me sane (or trying his best), and keeping me fed, but now I’m doing laundry for the both of us.
I’ve learned a lot through these ten years, and I’m so incredibly thankful for the community that the Madison area has for photographers. I feel like this year has finally been “my year” – just a few years in the making. I’m so glad to be where I am and to see how far I’ve come from the clueless 20 year old I was when I started this adventure.
Thank you to everyone for the love and support all these years!
